Self-adhesive labels on rolls

Self-adhesive labels on rolls to identify products, boxes and pallets, in the material and adhesive each use calls for.

A self-adhesive label seems like a minor consumable until it fails: it peels off in the cold store, fades before reaching the customer or will not run through the labeller. In packed products and in logistics, the label carries the batch, date, weight, barcode or destination, and traceability depends on it. That is why choosing it well is as important as choosing the box.

The choice comes down to three decisions. The first is the face material: paper for general, dry use; thermal paper when printing on the line itself with a thermal printer; and synthetics when the label has to withstand humidity, cold, abrasion or heavy handling. The second is the adhesive, which has to grip on the real surface (cardboard, plastic, film, glass) and at the real working temperature. The third is the format: size, roll and core suited to your printer or labeller.

Labels can be blank, for printing variable data in the plant, or pre-printed with the logo and fixed fields, leaving blank the part completed for each batch. For logistics labels there are standard shipping and pallet identification formats. If your label has to withstand extreme cold or contact with chemicals, we study it with you before proposing a reference.

This page covers the general range of self-adhesive labels. If you print with a thermal printer, on the thermal labels page we explain the difference between direct thermal, top-coated thermal and thermal card. When the printer is thermal transfer, you will also need ribbon. And if what you are after is a brand sticker for sealing or decorating a box, there are custom stickers.

At Fontanet Group, in Fraga (Huesca), with a team that has spent more than 30 years in the sector, we advise you so that label, adhesive and printer work together. Send us a sample or your equipment model and our sales team will propose the reference.
