Paperboard bands for fruit boxes

A paperboard band is a strip placed across a fruit or vegetable box, from side to side, over the produce. It is a presentation piece: its job is to let the buyer identify the brand, variety or origin at the point of sale, and to make your box stand out from the ones next to it on the shelf or at the wholesale market.

Its advantage over a full closure is that it does not cover the fruit. The band lets you identify and differentiate the produce without closing it in completely, so the goods remain visible and the box stays ventilated. With fresh produce that matters twice over: the colour of the fruit is part of the sale and air has to circulate. The catalogue sheet shows this with a black band on a wooden box of oranges.

It is an economical, versatile and customisable solution. It is printed with your design (the sheet shows a range of bands from different brands and in different colours) and it suits both wooden and cardboard boxes. It is easy to apply during packing and fully recyclable, as it is paperboard with no plastic.

Among the presentation pieces for the box, each one has its role. The box cover closes the box on top and protects the produce; the band only runs across it and does not enclose it. The label or sticker identifies the individual piece or pack, and the tie label does the same on netting. If you want branding without giving up visible, ventilated fruit, the band is the most direct option.
