Semi-automatic bucket sealer

It closes large cylindrical buckets and containers, with openings up to 330 mm, with film: the operator positions each container and the machine does the sealing.

Tray sealers are no good for a bucket: the container is tall, the opening is wide and the sealing edge sits well above the base. The semi-automatic bucket sealer is built for exactly that. The operator places the filled container under the head, the machine comes down, seals the film over the opening and cuts, and the bucket comes out closed and ready for its lid.

According to the catalogue sheet, it seals cylindrical containers with openings up to 330 mm and reaches up to 6 cycles per minute in atmospheric sealing, that is, without gas injection. For products that need it, it supports modified atmosphere packaging with vacuum and gas; in that case the cycle is longer, because the air has to be extracted and the mix introduced before sealing. The real speed with MAP is confirmed with your container.

Film sealed over the opening provides two things a lid alone does not: a tight seal during transport, with no leaks even if the bucket tips over or takes knocks, and a tamper-evident seal that shows the container has not been opened. That is why it is common for sauces, mayonnaise, jams, olives and bulk preserves for the hospitality trade, and also for non-food products sold in buckets.

Within the family, this is the manual option. The automatic bucket sealer goes up to 10 cycles per minute with infeed and outfeed conveying and WiFi connection, and the LA-250 line adds dosing as well. The semi-automatic makes sense when volume is moderate, when you work with several bucket sizes or when you want to start sealing without redesigning the packing room.

MARFONT, the machinery division of Fontanet Group, helps you choose the tooling for your containers and takes care of installation, training and technical service. From Fraga (Huesca), with a team that has more than 30 years in the sector, we study your buckets: accepted heights, film and technical data are confirmed with our sales team.

Advantages

Frequently asked questions

What bucket size does it take?

Cylindrical containers with openings up to 330 mm according to the catalogue sheet. Height and non-cylindrical containers are assessed with a sample.

Why 6 cycles per minute “in atmospheric mode”?

That is the speed when sealing without gas. With vacuum and gas the cycle is longer, and the real figure depends on your container and your product.

When should I move up to the automatic bucket sealer?

When volume calls for a faster rate or you do not want a dedicated operator. The automatic model reaches 10 cycles per minute with infeed and outfeed conveying.
