rPET and PP fruit punnets

The punnet is the retail pack for small and delicate fruit: shoppers can see the whole product, the fruit is not crushed as it would be in a bag and each unit leaves the warehouse already weighed. Our punnets are made of clear plastic in two materials, rPET and PP, and are supplied by the thousand.

rPET is recycled PET: rigid, very clear and with good presentation, and it is the material used for almost the whole range. The open rPET punnet comes in 500, 750 and 1,000 g; the 750 and 1,000 g versions share a 191x120 mm base and differ in height, 75 or 105 mm, and there are two 500 g models with different footprints. The hinged punnet has its lid attached to the body and closes without a separate part, in 500 g, with a 189x119 footprint or an elongated 284x77 mm one, and in 1,000 g, at 190x115 mm and 135 mm high.

For products presented in a square format there is the lidded rPET punnet, model Q1000, 182x182 mm and 750 g, clear, with heights of 45, 60 and 75 mm and its separate 186x186 mm lid. Donut-style punnets are narrow and elongated, from 244 to 285 mm long and 35 to 40 mm high, in three volumes, designed for produce laid out in a row.

PP is more flexible and tougher than rPET and covers the large formats: punnets of 500 g, 1, 1.5 and 2 kg, the largest measuring 245x145 mm and 120 mm high. It is the option when the punnet has to take more weight or more handling. In both materials the punnet is suitable for food contact, ventilates the produce well and stacks to make the most of space in cold storage and transport, and it can also be customised.

Choosing well is simple if you start from the retail weight and the box the punnets will go into: the footprint has to fit without play and the height has to leave room for the fruit without it touching the lid.
