Cardboard tubes for shipping and storage

The cardboard tube is the natural packaging for long items. Sheets, plans, posters, profiles or any rolled material fit badly in a box: there is space left at the sides, the product moves about and the corners end up bent. A tube, by contrast, wraps the item along its entire length and spreads impacts over a curved surface that withstands pressure much better than a flat face.

They are made from strong cardboard, designed to offer good protection against impacts and deformation during transport and storage. Even so, they are light and easy to handle, which makes them practical both for parcel shipping and for storing material in the warehouse, where they are easy to stack and identify. The catalogue sheet shows kraft tubes of various lengths closed with white caps at the ends.

They are supplied in different sizes according to the needs of each product. When choosing, what matters is the inner diameter, so that the rolled material goes in without forcing but without too much play, the usable length and the weight of the contents, which determines what wall strength is appropriate.

Within our cardboard solutions, the tube fills a gap the others do not cover. A box protects volumes; an edge protector, edges; sheets and dividers, surfaces and layers. The tube is the option for anything cylindrical or elongated. If the contents are delicate, it can be complemented with filling or bubble wrap inside, and the closure can be reinforced with packaging tape.
