SQ-800 semi-automatic strapping machine

The SQ-800 is our benchmark model in semi-automatic strapping. It is a table strapping machine with an arch: the operator places the box or package on the table, passes the plastic strap around it and the machine takes care of tensioning, sealing and cutting it. The closure comes out the same on the first box as on the last. Its catalogue sheet states a strapping speed of up to 55 cycles per minute.

On the inside, the sheet highlights a brushless direct current motor, which brings high efficiency and less noise at the workstation, and a self-lubricating design with fewer moving parts, which reduces maintenance. In practice, that means fewer stoppages due to wear and a more comfortable working environment for whoever spends the day beside the machine. The strapping reel is mounted on the side and the frame has wheels so it can be moved around the warehouse.

Among the strapping machines in the range, the SQ-800 fills the fixed-station role. Compared with the battery-powered OR-T S19, which is taken to the pallet wherever it is, the SQ-800 waits for the packages to come to it and straps them faster and with less effort. Compared with the automatic LEG-100, which works integrated into a line with no operator, the SQ-800 is simpler and fits when volume does not justify full automation or when formats change a lot.

It is common in dispatch areas, warehouses and packhouses that bundle boxes, close paper and cardboard packages or secure parcels for shipping. The width and type of strapping have to be matched to the machine's sealing head and to the load: as a general rule, polypropylene is the strapping for light loads and for bundling boxes.
