Cardboard and bubble fruit bin liners
Bulk fruit gets damaged where it touches the bin: on the walls and the base. The liner puts a protective layer exactly there.
The fruit bin is the large-volume container in which fruit travels in bulk from the field to the packhouse or between warehouses. Its walls and base, whether plastic or wood, have ribs, joints and slats against which the fruit knocks and rubs with every movement. The liner covers that interior, in side and base format, so that the produce rests on a protective surface and not on the bin itself.
We work with two versions, designed for different needs. The cardboard liner is strong, protects the fruit against knocks and scuffing and also adds rigidity and stability inside the bin. It is an economical solution that is easy to handle, and in the photo it is shown with slots in the walls and base. The bubble liner is designed for maximum impact protection: it absorbs knocks and reduces damage to delicate fruit, and it is light, flexible and easy to fit, including in wooden bins.
The practical difference is this: cardboard gives structure and a smooth surface, and is the general-purpose option; bubble cushions, and is the one to use when the variety marks easily or the journey is long with a lot of vibration. Both are supplied in side and base format, so you can protect just the base or the whole bin.
Within the protection family, the liner is the piece that works in the bin, just as the box bottom pad does inside the box and the layer pad between the layers of a pallet. If you already use bubble wrap rolls elsewhere in the warehouse, the bubble liner saves you having to cut and fit it by hand for each bin.
To quote, we need the internal dimensions of your bins, whether they are plastic or wood and what fruit they carry. At Fontanet Group, from Fraga (Huesca) and with a team with more than 30 years in the sector, we advise you on choosing between cardboard and bubble. Ask our sales team.
