Disposable nitrile gloves
The most complete single-use glove in the range: it resists punctures and chemicals and contains no latex, so all staff can wear it.
Nitrile is a synthetic rubber. Unlike latex, it does not come from the sap of the rubber tree, so it does not contain the natural proteins that cause allergies in some people. That is the main reason many packhouses and food workshops have adopted it as their standard glove: a single model works for the whole workforce, with no need to keep track of who is allergic and who is not.
Its other advantage is strength. Nitrile stands up to pricks and tears better than vinyl or polyethylene, and it withstands contact with cleaning and disinfection products. On a fruit line that makes a difference: stalks, boxes with sharp edges, staples, cutting blades or switching between handling produce and cleaning a conveyor. A glove that tears mid-shift leaves the hand exposed and has to be changed more often.
Compared with latex, nitrile is slightly less elastic, but it fits the hand well and keeps good sensitivity for medium-precision tasks such as sorting, packing or labelling. Compared with vinyl, which is looser and stiffer, it offers a better fit and more protection when the task goes on for a long time or involves handling objects that could puncture it. Polyethylene is left for occasional, very short tasks.
That is why nitrile is usually the choice for general food handling, continuous work on the packing line, cleaning facilities with chemicals and any station where the glove has to last. Blue, the usual colour for this glove, also makes it easier to find a torn piece if it falls onto the product. It is supplied in a dispenser box, which lets you take them out one at a time without touching the rest.
At Fontanet Group (Fraga, Huesca) we work with a team that has more than 30 years in the sector and we keep permanent stock of PPE and hygiene products so your production never stops for lack of supplies. Sizes, colour, thickness and suitability for food contact depend on the reference: our sales team will confirm the technical data sheet and prepare a supply plan based on your consumption.

Frequently asked questions
Are nitrile gloves suitable for people allergic to latex?
Yes, nitrile is a latex-free synthetic rubber. That is why it is the usual option when you do not want to keep track of who is allergic in the workforce.
Nitrile or vinyl for the packing line?
If the operator wears the glove for hours or handles boxes, staples or blades, nitrile holds up better. Vinyl suits short, low-risk tasks.
Can they be used for cleaning with chemicals?
Nitrile has high chemical resistance, which is why it is also used for cleaning. For a specific product, check its safety data sheet and ask us for the right reference.
