Disposable polyethylene gloves

Polyethylene gloves are not made by dipping like nitrile, latex or vinyl gloves. They are made from a thin plastic film, cut and welded in the outline of a hand. That is why they have that recognisable flat, loose shape: they do not hug the fingers but wrap around them. They are clear, latex-free and the lightest in the range.

Their territory is brief, direct handling. Picking up a piece to weigh it, placing product on a sample tray, serving at a counter, restocking a display or any task that lasts a few seconds, after which the glove is thrown away. In those cases you do not need the strength of nitrile or the sensitivity of latex: what matters is having hygienic protection to hand, easy to put on with a dry hand and without wasting time.

That same design sets its limits. Being loose, it reduces dexterity in tasks that require precision and can snag or slip off if the work goes on. Nor is it a glove for sharp objects, staples or chemicals: those workstations call for nitrile. If you are looking for something a little closer-fitting for short tasks with more handling, vinyl is the intermediate step between polyethylene and nitrile.

Used properly, the polyethylene glove complements the rest: many companies have nitrile on the line and polyethylene at service, weighing or sampling points, where the operator puts gloves on and takes them off dozens of times per shift. That way each workstation uses the glove it needs and nothing more.
