Tagging gun for hanging labels

The tagging gun, also known as a tag fastener gun or tag attacher, is a hand tool for attaching hanging labels. It pierces the label and the product with a needle and leaves a fastener in place, the small T-shaped plastic filament that joins the two. It is the system you see on garments, textiles, footwear, bags or bundled products carrying a hanging price, brand or traceability label.

To get the tagging gun right you need to think about three things. First, the type of needle, standard or fine, depending on how delicate the product is. Second, compatibility with the fasteners: needle, magazine and fastener must belong to the same system, or the gun will not feed properly. And third, volume: in intensive use a robust tool pays off, as does keeping spare needles to hand, because the needle is the part that wears.
