COMBI 5000 checkweigher with metal detector

In many food plants, metal detection and weight control are handled by two separate machines, each with its own belt, its own screen and its own reject. The COMBI 5000 brings them together: the product passes first through the metal detector tunnel and then through the weighing module, all on a stainless steel frame and run from a single screen.

The detector looks for metal contaminants, which are the most common foreign bodies on a line: usually it works with ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals and stainless steel, with a sensitivity that depends on the product and the pack size. For other contaminants, such as glass, stone or bone, the usual approach is to add X-ray inspection.

The weighing section supports dynamic operation, with the product moving, or static operation, when the format or the accuracy required means stopping the unit on the scale. The capacitive touch screen (PCAP) makes product set-up easy and cleans well in damp environments. And with up to 3 outlets, the machine does more than accept or reject: it can separate, for example, correct units, units with the wrong weight and contaminated units. The rejector is optional and is defined according to your line.

Compared with the CODI 640 and NEK 120 checkweighers, which only weigh, the COMBI 5000 adds metal inspection and sorting into several outlets. It makes sense when your customer or your food safety system requires metal detection and you want to save space and a second machine on the line.
