Fruit trays for figs
Trays with one cavity per piece, in 20x30 and 30x40 box formats, so each fig travels separately and stays still, free of rubbing and knocks.
The fig is one of the most delicate fruits to pass through a packhouse: very thin skin, soft flesh and a ripening process that does not wait. A single rub against the next piece or a knock in transit is enough for it to split, release juice and lose value at the point of sale. That is why figs are sold in small packs with every piece kept apart, and a fruit tray is the simplest way to achieve that.
A fig fruit tray is a tray with one cavity per piece. The fig sits in its hollow, does not roll around inside the box and does not touch its neighbours, so the knocks of the journey are spread across the tray instead of being concentrated on the skin. The fruit arrives whole, neatly arranged and looking the way it did when it left the field.
We offer it in two box formats: 20x30 for small boxes and 30x40 for larger-capacity boxes. The references in the photos are black and blue; the colour sets off the skin of the fig and helps tell grades or customers apart within the same packhouse. Our sales team will confirm the material, the number of cavities and the thickness of each reference.
As with any fruit tray, fit is everything. If the cavity is too large, the fig moves and gets knocked; if it is too small, it is squeezed and marked when placed. Size varies a great deal between varieties, between early-season brebas and main-crop figs, and from one season to the next, so the safest approach is to test the tray with your own fruit before placing the order.
At Fontanet Group we work from Fraga (Huesca), in the heart of a growing area, with a team that brings together more than 30 years in the fresh produce sector. We send you a physical sample so you can check the fit with your figs, and we advise you on format and colour. The material, cavities and availability of each reference are confirmed by our sales team.
Advantages
- One cavity per fig. Each piece travels apart and does not rub against its neighbours, which is where losses begin with such a soft fruit.
- Fruit stays still in the box. The fig sits in its hollow and does not roll during handling or transport.
- Two box formats. 20x30 for small boxes and 30x40 for larger-capacity boxes.
- Better presentation. The fruit arrives whole and neatly arranged, ready to display at the point of sale.
- Black or blue. Colours that set off the skin of the fig and help tell grades apart in the packhouse.

Frequently asked questions
Which fig fruit tray format should I choose?
It depends on the box you work with: we have 20x30 and 30x40. Tell us which box you use and how many pieces you want per pack, and we will suggest the right reference.
What material is the fig fruit tray made of?
It depends on the reference, so our sales team will confirm it together with the number of cavities. If your customer requires a specific material, let us know and we will find the option that fits.
Can I test it with my figs first?
Yes. We send you a physical sample so you can check the fit with your fruit, because fig size varies a great deal between varieties and seasons.
